This preparation contains chlorhexidine gluconate in the form of an alcoholic solution.

Chlorhexidine gluconate is an antiseptic effective against a wide range of bacteria, yeasts, some fungi and viruses.

Indications

• Pre-operative surgical hand disinfection
• Antiseptic handwash on the ward
• Pre-operative skin antisepsis for the patient
• Post-operative skin antisepsis for the patient

Performance

• Chlorhexidine gluconate 4% is effective against a wide range of Gram-positive and Gram-negative vegetative bacteria including MRSA and MSSA, yeasts, dermatophyte fungi and lipophilic viruses
• Immediate bacterial and sustained antiseptic effects helps reduce skin flora for 6 to 8 hours - thus reducing the risk of cross infection
