Benecheck Instructions Step 1-2

Step 1

  • Insert the code key which is supplied with each new pack of strips into the meter. The meter will automatically turn on and confirm the code on the key which should match the code number on the pot of strips. The meter is now calibrated for that batch of strips. Remove key and the meter will automatically turn off. This process should take no longer than 5 seconds.

Step 2

  • Insert the strip into the meter as shown. This will automatically turn the meter on, the on-screen display should then show the lot number of the strips that it is calibrated for. The time and date is also displayed and on the right hand side of your screen will be the "blood drop" symbol indicating you to apply the sample.
Benecheck Instructions Step 3-4

Step 3

  • Insure to use a clean finger that has either been washed in warm water or wiped with an alcohol prep swab. Using a lancing device of your choice, lance the finger tip to obtain a blood sample. It is advisable to wipe the first small drop of blood that appears and use the second drop, which can be obtained by gently milking the finger from the base towards the tip. Place the end of the strip into the drop of blood on the finger and the test strip will automatically draw the exact amount of blood from the finger. Wait for the beep, as this is the indication that the meter has drawn enough sample and that the meter is now testing the sample.

Step 4

  • Apply the blood sample to the white pad on the strips as shown. When the time has elapsed, the result will be displayed. On removing the strip from the meter, the meter will automatically switch off. With the unique way the strip collects the sample from the finger tip, you are guaranteed zero cross contamination from patient to patient if used correctly.
