Important Notice
When buying a pulse oximeter it is important to consider the age groups that you will be intending to use the device with. Fingertip pulse oximeter devices are generally better suited for use with adults. This is due to both the weight of the device, and the larger aperture of the hole to insert the finger. Whilst these devices can be used on infants, and neonates, it will be difficult to get an accurate reading as the meter has to remain still for a period of 5-10 seconds to obtain a continual reading. Try doing this with a 1 or 2 year old!.
If you are intending to use a pulse oximeter with infants and/or neonates, we recommend a device like the cms60c pulse oximeter which comes with a specific probe designed for use with infants, as well as a probe for use with adults.
